ABOUT THE EVENT
FWT Challenger – 4 Star Qualifier
Since 2012, the Freeride World Tour (FWT) has united the world’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders in a five-stop world championship. In 2025, 50 athletes will compete on legendary competition slopes to qualify for the finals in Fieberbrunn (Austria) and Verbier (Switzerland). After the first four stops, only the top 50% of riders from each ranking advance to the final round, where the world champions in individual categories are crowned.
In six FWT Challenger Events, the best riders from the FWT Qualifier compete against the World Tour riders who didn’t make the cut, for the coveted starting positions in the Freeride World Tour 2026. The FWT Qualifier Events are divided into categories from 1 to 4 stars – the higher the category, the more points can be collected for the ranking. The FWT Challenger Events begin after the cut-off on March 9.
The X OVER RIDE 2025, after its premiere in 2012, ten FWT Qualifiers with 3 stars, and one FWT Challenger in 2024, will again be held as an FWT Challenger this year. Due to the high number of 1-star and 2-star events, there will be no FWQ 1-star preliminary competition this year.
