ABOUT THE EVENT
FWT Challenger – 4 Star Qualifier
The FREERIDE WORLD TOUR (FWT) has been uniting the best freeride skiers and snowboarders on the planet for ten years in the world championship consisting of five stops. In 2025, 50 athletes will compete on legendary competition slopes in order to take part in the finals in Fieberbrunn and Verbier. After the first four stops, only the top 50% of all riders in the respective rankings will qualify for the finals in Fieberbrunn (Austria) and Verbier (Switzerland), where the world champions in the individual categories will be crowned.
In six FWT Challenger events, the best riders from the FWT Qualifier will compete with the World Tour riders who didn’t make the cut for the starting places for the Freeride World Tour 2026
The FWT Qualifier events are categorized from 1 star to 4 star events. The higher the category, the more points you get for the ranking. After the cut-off on March 9, there will be the FWT Challenger events.
The X OVER RIDE 2025, after the premiere in 2012, after 10 x FWT Qualifier 3 Star and 1 x FWT Challenger 2024, will be held again this year as FWT Challenger.
Since there are already many events in the 1 star and 2 star range, there will be no FWQ 1 star event as a pre-competition this year.
